Grace by Arianna McCumber (age 12)

He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will the Lord withhold from those who do what is right. ~ Psalm 84:11

I believe grace is a gift. A gift from God. And it is one of the many good things that God has given us. If you ask me to define grace I would say: “I think of a quiet and beautiful setting that is peaceful and filled with kindness.”

While I might have said that this time, I could also give you so many different examples of what I think grace is. And if you asked someone else they would be able to come up with a very different but great answer as well.

Now, my experiences of grace come mostly from in my house. My middle name is Grace and my sister’s middle name is Joy. So most of the time our family jokes about us being complete opposites in that way.  For example, we say my sister is filled with joy, always jumping up and down, making a lot of noise, and laughing with Joy. While I, on the other hand, am as graceful as a butterfly. Sitting quietly showing love and happiness in more quiet and peaceful ways.

Now, that’s my say on grace. And I get it from life experiences. (mostly from having my own middle name be Grace)   :)

Dear Lord, Thank you for your grace. Thank you for showing us grace in many different ways. Please be with us in 2021 to help us show others grace as much as we can. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
