“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ~Numbers 6:24-26

When I read this verse it took me a moment to realize that these, or similar, words are spoken as a blessing at the end of each church service.  Such an important blessing or sending should not be taken lightly. Read the words again, and as you do, hear Pastors John, Sherrie or Muriel saying them, and really take them to heart, as I did for the first time in a long time. No matter what is going on around us, the Lord is giving us His peace. Whether we take that to be peace of mind or peace to calm a troubled heart, we just need to know that it comes from the Lord.

Gracious God, grant us your peace. The peace that comes from the faith-based knowledge that you stand with us, no matter what we face in this world. We can be comforted that you, or one of your angels, here on earth, are always nearby when we need someone to turn to in times of trouble. Amen.
