United in Christ, Together in Ministry!

Love by Arianna McCumber (age 11)

So I now am giving you a new command: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.~John 13:34
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. ~John 13:35
Love covers a multitude of sins. ~1 Peter 4:8
If we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us. ~1 John 4:12
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. ~Psalm 118:29

Have you ever loved someone? And then thought “they don’t love me back”? Or have you ever had someone do something to you that made you feel as if you shouldn’t love them anymore?

There are many expectations for being a Christian. One of the many is that we will love others, as much as you feel like they don’t deserve it. We have all Sinned, and many of us might feel at times as if we probably shouldn’t deserve it either, but God loves us nevertheless. “Our Christian conduct is proof as to whether we love each other, and loving each other is proof that we belong to Christ” (quote from TouchPoints God’s Answers For Your Daily Needs)

There are many gifts from love. Here are a few:

  • Forgiveness

  • Patience

  • Kindness

  • Love for truth

  • Love for justice

  • Love for the best in a person

  • Loyalty at any cost

  • Belief in a person no matter what

 Love does not allow for:

  • Jealousy
  • Envy
  • Pride
  • A haughty spirit
  • Selfishness
  • Rudeness
  • A demand for one’s own way
  • Irritability
  • Grudges

Dear God, thank you for giving us people to love in our lives. It feels so great to spread love to those who may feel sad and need someone to love them. Please help all of us to be more loving to the people around us. AMEN.
