Grace by Chris Keim

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 8:39

This text is a game changer for me. It helps me understand God’s grace. It helps me know that there is not anything in this world that can stop God’s love. God is going to love us, no matter what. When I came to know this verse, it helped me to see God in a different light than I had previously seen before. It helped me to know that God is not conditional in his love for us and he gives it with grace to everyone. When we look at Jesus' life, death and resurrection, we know this to be true: he healed strangers; he had compassion and love for people who were considered to be unclean and sinners; he did not keep Judas from partaking in the last supper, even though he knew Judas had betrayed him; and on the cross he gave forgiveness to the criminal who was crucified with him and then to all in his death and resurrection. It is in this great grace for each of us, when realized deeply in our own lives, that our hearts can be opened to giving grace and forgiveness to others.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your Son. Thank you for loving us and giving that love to us freely with grace.  Help us to share your love, forgiveness and grace to others. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
