United in Christ, Together in Ministry!

Hope by Matt Griepentrog

We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. ~1 Thessalonians 1:3

If we all sat down and made a list of the character traits we need right now, I think that endurance would be near the top of the list. As 2020 goes on, we are all looking for strength to make it through the challenges we’re facing.

A friend on Facebook recently pointed out that the lyrics to “O Come O Come Emmanuel” hit a little different this year: “That mourns in lonely exile here…” For many there is a feeling that we know we will “get through this,” but it’s still difficult.

In this season of waiting, we are reminded of the hope that we share. The writer of Thessalonians reminds us that endurance and hope are not unobtainable, rather they are ours through Jesus. And in the words of UNITY member Fred Varin, WE WILL ENDURE!

Dear God, Thank you that because of your son, Jesus, we have the hope that we need to endure all the current difficulties in our lives and rely on your strength and not our own. Amen.
